| I almost completely forgot about this site. Hey anyone remember that time... I... oh yeah I haven't done anything with this thing. ...except for that one time when I cussed on here and it got me into trouble. Proved you wrong, Grant! I'm a month away from my first college graduation which makes me a certified teacher... and "Band" Director if you will. I'm intrigued as to what some people think of that, especially those who have reeeaaally seen me go through college. Finish the sentence: "Remember that time when Schmitz _________" |

Well guys, it looks like I will be leaving Springfield for good on August 3rd!
Actually I'm just moving back home to await my student teaching placement, but regardless my final option is Willard. However, should I be placed there, I will not be around the band hall like always, as I will not be performing in any ensembles. This is a choice I have made because I already know that I will be unable to divide my attention away from student teaching. This is extremely important to me, personally, as every practical experience I get I must cherrish. I just can't convince myself to work up the courage to try and handle this opportunity and devote time to being in a top university ensemble. Besides, I place my confidence in somebody else to take my seat. I know that there are trombone players in this school that are capable of doing just that and have the practice ettiquette that I feel I would lack during my student teaching semester.
Hey, everyone who I have helped in the past with something musically! I have something to say: Please, befriend these people, not because they are good musicians or are smart, but because they are most likely lonely as they have spent much time trying to master the craft. I am very familiar these feelings and have been down that road way too often in college. Thank you to everyone who has helped me by being my friend, through thick and thin, so to speak. (get it? former-schmitz joke)

| So after a week of pulling my hair out and searching my apartment endlessly... I uncovered my passport... crammed inside of my Instrumental Arranging book no less. Man... I really am pathetic |
